Kristina Train is set to return with her new full length album Dark Black this autumn but this week she has given us a little taster of what we can expect with her new EP Dream Of Me.
The three track EP is the first release for the singer-songwriter since she grabbed everyone’s attention with Split Milk.
Dream Of Me is the first and best track on this album as Kristina Train shows off her sultry vocals as well as her fantastic writing skills.
This is an upbeat and summery track from Train and the presence of a big band on the record just gives it bit of extra something.
The sultry and deep tones in Train’s voice really do work well with the big band element - through in a bit of guitar and you really have a track that you can’t help but get swept along with.
She brings the pace down a notch or two with Lonely Sinner which is much more of a reflective track.
This is a track that is completely stripped back but Train’s vocals well and truly take centre stage here in what feels like an incredibly intimate and personal recording.
I Wanna Live in L.A. bring the EP to a close and this is more of a laid back track and the music and her voice simply just wash over you.
Kristina Train is an artist who is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve when it comes to her song-writing - Lonely Sinner being a perfect example- and she really does tell a story with her music.
Dream Of Me is a great introduction to Kristina Train and her new album Dark Black is a record that everyone should be looking forward to.
