Grace are the new boys on the pop/rock scene and their debut EP Stealing Kisses is an introduction to the boys and their music before they embark on recording their debut album at the end of the summer.
Stealing Kisses sit the first song in this four track collection and it really is the strongest track on the new EP.
There are rock and pop elements all mixed together and the guitar rift that runs through the tracks really is fabulous.
Betty as a more rockier affair, this really is an infectious and incredibly catchy track and it’s in this genre that the boys really do come into their own/
Sam Gotley has a real deep and almost smoky feel to his vocals, which works so wonderfully on this track as the guitars have a similarly rich quality to them.
It’s all change again on track three as there is a bit more a country element, trust me after listening to the first two tracks the opening bars of this really do come as a bit of a surprise.
But the vocal talents of Gotley really are put on show here as this is an acoustic track that shows off the softer side of the band.
From a vocal perspective Gotley gages this right as the vocals are just spot on as emotional pours off every single word.
The final track sees the boys go back to a more rock and roll feel and the deep and gravely Gotley vocal returns.
Stealing Kisses EP shows off the true versatility of Grace from pop rock to rock to a touching acoustic track and back again.
Grace have showed that they are a forced to be reckoned with these four tracks as they are more than comfortable in jumping amongst genres and adapting their playing and vocal styles. I really can’t wait to see what they deliver with their full length debut album.
