City Of Lights have been whipping up a storm on the live circuit and this week sees them release their debut album Seasons Change.
City Of Lights are already being tipped for great things over the next twelve moths and it is not too hard to see why as Seasons Change is a great debut.
Was It All Worth It? Is the opening track on the album and this one of the catchiest songs in this collection.
There is a real warmth to this track and the boys deliver it with plenty of energy and enthusiasm - throw in some melodies and harmonies that are pitch perfect it is a track that will get stuck in your head.
This album is packed with great tracks but Did I Stutter is one of the major highlights as it is another energetic track that gathers momentum as it progresses.
This track also shows off the versatility of Matt Dunwell’s vocals as the versus show off the richness of the lower end of his voice while the chorus shows off his range.
But this album is not all about melodic and breezy tracks as the boys bring down the pace a little with Honesty - another great track that is not to be missed.
The acoustic guitar is a great addition to this track while Dunwell’s vocal has a beautiful vulnerability to it which works so well.
Honesty is a track that drips with emotion and feeling and Wake Me Up really does follow a same path - these are two tracks that really show off the band’s great writing skills.
Sticks and Stone pick up the pace again while Landscape is a rather mesmerising end to this record.
The first four tracks on the album are by far the strongest on the album but Seasons Change is an album that will catch your attention from the first bar to the last note.
Seasons Change is an incredibly engaging album and if melody driven rock is your thing then City Of Lights really are the band for you.
