Rating: 4/5
Just a week after the release of their latest single Adrenalin Junkie band Bleech are back with their debut album Nude.
I will hold my hands up and admit that I was a little under whelmed by Adrenalin Junkie but this album is not to be missed as Bleech have put together a collection of truly infectious tracks.
Weirdo is the opening track on the album and it is the perfect start to the album as the guitars kick in and this is a really high energy track that shows off Jennifer O'Neill's vocals.
Not I had issues with the power of O'Neill's vocals on Adrenalin Junkie as they just didn't seem powerful enough to really push the track home - however there are no such issues on the rest of the album.
What is so great about this album is with every track Bleech change the pace and the sound from the pop rock sound of Break My Nose to the catchy melody and punchy chorus of Monday's, that has the quietest opening of any track on the album.
You can see that they have been influenced by the likes of Nirvana and Hole but they are perhaps a little more polished by those bands.
The Worthing Song is a great rock and role track as the show the heavier side to themselves, the opening guitars are just fantastic.
But there is perhaps are real venom and darkness to this track that you don't see on the rest of the album and the deep side of O'Neill's vocals really have a power and a richness to them.
Nude is a great debut album from this exciting band as they show off many side to themselves musically demonstrating they can tackle, pop/rock, indie/rock as well as a bit of punk.
This is a record that is just bursting with energy and attitude and deserve to be a hit.
