Artist: AC/DC
Album: Live From River Plate
Label: Columbia Records
OUT NOW
Rating: 5/5
It has been twenty years since rock icons AC/DC last release a live record but this week they are back with Live From River Plate.
The album is a mixture of old classics such as You Shook Me All Night Long and Highway to Hell as well as tracks for their most recent Black Ice - including opening track Rock N Roll Train.
And this is an awesome way to open the album as not only does Brian Johnson sound great on lead vocals but the crowd is pumped right from the opening chords.
What is so great about this album is the band sound as great live as they do on a studio album - and that is a testament of the vocal and playing ability of this band.
While all of these tracks sound great it is tracks that are changed for a live show that really make this album what it is.
And there is not greater example of this than on Let There Be Rock as Angus Young whips the crowd into a frenzy with a ten minute guitar solo - to say that it brings the house down it a little bit of an understatement.
There is not a single weak moment on this album as it is classic track after classic track and tracks like For Those about To Rock and Back in Black sound simply fantastic.
Live From River Plate is an album packed with great rock and roll and sees a band that really are on top form - seriously they are one of the greatest live bands of all time.
For hardcore AC/DC fans this is an album not to be missed and for fans coming to the band’s music for the first time this really is a great place to start.
AC/DC have always recorded music that was meant to be turned up loud and played live and with this nineteen track album they will blow you away.
