Every Thin Lizzy line-up since the tragic death of Phil Lynott has been met with sceptics, and this one is no different.
When Female First saw this latest version of Thin Lizzy in January, it was clear that new front-man Ricky Warwick is as close as we'll ever get to having Lynott back.
No-one can replace him, but Warwick showed at Download Festival that he can handle the responsibility, with fantastic performances of 'The Cowboy Song' and 'Whiskey In The Jar' proving highlights.
It was the first official appearance of Thin Lizzy, which is a surprise given their legacy. They were well-received by the large crowd gathered, who sang along to every word.
The atmosphere could've been better, but Ricky did his best to lead the crowd into singalongs of 'The Boys Are Back In Town' and 'Jailbreak'.
It wasn't the most unpredictable of set-lists, but anything other than this would've been a disappointment.
People were there to see Thin Lizzy perform the hits, which they did to near perfection.
Vivian Campbell joined the band on stage for 'Boys Are Back In Town', after seemingly taking a break from Thin Lizzy to concentrate on Def Leppard.
It was a well-received set from a legendary rock n' roll band who would've been the perfect warm-up for The Darkness (had Alter Bridge not been slotted in between).
We'll avoid any clichés, but it's clear from their show that Lizzy are back and won't be going anywhere for a while.
