The Hype Theory are building themselves a great reputation after being one of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam winners, resulting in appearances at a lot of summer festivals.
Monday will see the release of their new single 'Kid At Heart', through Small Town Records.
Being released on digitally and on a USB wristband, in terms of release it feels like a band trying to do something new and fresh.
Whilst the EP is solid and exciting, it's not quite as original as the release format.
It's easy and cliched to compare any female-fronted pop-rock act to the likes of Paramore.
In this case, it's a comparison only mentioned as a compliment to how big these tracks sound, even the b-side.
The title track looks set to be an underground summer anthem, with a catchy pop-rock riff and brilliantly upbeat chorus.
'These Are The Times' cements the idea that The Hype Theory can, and deserve to, make it.
It definitely bodes well for their as-yet-untitled debut album (due out in autumn).
There's definitely a trend towards this style of pop-punk/pop-rock, and The Hype Theory do it well enough to capitalise.
The acoustic version of 'Kids At Heart' shows just how great a singer Katy Jackson really is, showing another side to the band.
This year could be The Hype Theory's chance to break through, although obvious comparisons to Paramore could harm their aim to stand out from the crowd.
Letting the music speak for itself, no-one would bet against this band becoming a big deal.
