Oh I do love it when I find a new rock band that I love. Okay, so it isn’t The Answer… haha, I’m just kidding, of course it is!
From the very first second lead singer Cormac Neeson opens his mouth I feel like I’ve been transported back to the days when hard rock wasn’t just a bunch of pretty guys in tight jeans and a band t-shirt, okay, actually on second thoughts it was, but you know what I mean - in the non-poser way!
Cormac’s voice sounds like something that has just walked straight off the sound of a film like Waynes World / School Of Rock or something else involving Jack Black. Filled with ripping guitars and drums that make me want to trash my head around like a mad woman (if it didn’t look so good today) it’s a welcome change to the samey bands of today.
Despite being around as a band since 2000, this is the first time I’ve heard these guys, and I immediately wonder where the hell they have been for the past 8 years of my life - I discounted the fact that we’re in 2009 because we’re not that far into it yet.
Taken from their forthcoming album, Everyday Demons, which is out on March 2, this explosive Northern Irish four piece look set to catapult themselves back into the limelight following the realise of their previous album Rise, back in 2006.
As I delve deeper into the bands history, it’s quite obvious that many people before me have seen the talent these four blokes house, and over 100,000 people bought their last album,. Leading to them being names as the Classic Rock best new band of 2006.
So two years later, they might not be ‘new’ anymore, but when they sit alongside Metallica, AC/DC and Guns N Roses in your local music shop; they will be the freshest band on there that is making music to rival such greats,
Rating: 5/5 - Where have you been all my life?
