Well, well, this has been a long time coming hasn’t it? Tommy Reilly, winner of Orange Unsigned Act 2009 has finally got his debut album done and dusted, and now it’s time to unleash his new single, Jackets on the world.
Telling the story of that I can only imagine as a boy falling in love with his best mate - the line “I thought she was my friend but now I love her,” kinda gives it away - the single really proves why Tommy took home the winners crown in the show.
To be honest, I’m going through a bit of a ‘Scottish musician’ phase at the moment; there’s just something abut their accent that I can’t resist, and although I’m not usually a fan of people who fall into the singer/songwriter bracket, there’s something a little it different about this lad… every song he sings has something totally pure and truthful in it. He sings from the heart, and that quality is hard to find these days.
Proving his sweet side, Tommy rambles on for three minutes about this girl that he gives his jacket to this girl and then wonders about whether falling in love with a mate can ruin a beautiful friendship… oh Tommy, we’re not friends, please sweep me off my feet.
Rating: 5/5 - I can’t wait to hear what his album has to hold.
