Sneaky Sound System - I Love It

Sneaky Sound System might have named their latest single I Love It in some sort of coy marketing ploy; but does it really live up to the hype of its name?

So I have to admit that I’d never heard of these guys until I caught an earful of Connie Mitchell’s vocals on Marmaduke Duke’s latest offering Kid Gloves, which, for the record, sound pretty swish indeed.

This track though, isn’t anything overly special, it sounds very much like the rest of the chilled-out type of dance based Indie music that seems to be coming out of the woodwork of late.

Granted the vocals aren’t half bad - in fact they sound pretty similar to Jem who disappeared from the music scene faster than a commitment-phobe at a wedding- The tune itself is alright, but therein lies the problem, it doesn’t leap out and grab me by the throat as I ever so desperately wanted it to.

The Fred Flake Remix sounds a little bit like one of the songs from the film Midnight Express (but I can’t really put my finger on which one.) yet, nevertheless I think it could be a hit on the club scene thanks to it’s three remixes.

Unfortunately though, it won’t be spinning in my CD player.
