Metro Station’s follow-up to Shake It was always either going to be a hit or miss, what with the success of their debut, but as Seventeen Forever hit’s the shelves, can the foursome keep upo the power pop vibe?
Well of course, I mean come with, with Billie Ray Cyrus’ son in the group, they’re bound to be pretty cool aren’t they? Even if their cool-factor is let down a little by them being related to a couple of Disney stars.
Complete with their usual blend of summertime party beats, Seventeen Forever couldn’t be released at a better time, as school and college leavers try to ignore the fact that it could be time to ‘grow up’ and leave their teens behind.
So, during the single’s chart lifespan, I imagine a handful of wayward teens will adopt Trace Cyrus and friend’s single as their mantra as they avoid getting down to the old job centre and instead concentrate on the far more important tasks of playing football in their local park.
Although we should probably instil into the youth of today that they in fact won’t be Seventeen Forever, let’s just let them have their fun for a little while longer…
