McFly

McFly

Mcfly are the epitome of everything that pop punk rock bands should be, and with this im mind, I can honestly say that any existing McFly fans won’t be disappointed with their latest offerings Do Ya and Stay With Me. And if you don’t like the four pretty boys at all, but the CD anyway as it’s in aid of BBC’s Children In Need.

So the main track, Do Ya is the usual dose of cheesy boy band pop from Danny, Harry, Dougie and Tom, who seem to have gone back to their skater boy days on the CD cover (but still look just as fit as before!)

There is an odd smattering of a Mika-sounding bridge “I’m making a list of things that I miss whenever we’re far apart; The way that you kiss, the taste of your lips, I’m telling you from the heart” is a little bit disconcerting but nevertheless, it is still a deliciously catchy song that even the most miserable old rocker won’t be able to resist tapping his foot to.

The second song, Stay With Me is less pop-punk and more easy-listening rock; to be honest it’s a sound from these lads that I haven’t heard before. And I only bloody love it!

To be honest, when you’re as fit as them, you can’t go wrong with a fickle girl like myself, but “Let’s go upstairs and read my tarot cards..” I’m a believer - take me away boys!

Both songs juxtapose each other really well, the bubblegum rock pop of Do Ya to the old rock and roll track Stay With Me, with it’s anthemic final chorus and it’s a wonderful little CD to listen to as you donate your £2 to charity. And it’s yellow, like Pudsey!
