Madcon - Liar
After the success of their previous hit Beggin I was pretty excited to hear what Madcon had to offer us next and most of all, if it could do as well as it’s predecessor.
From the moment the song kicks off, it’s obviously that Madcon have a very recognisable sound; often you hear the first song by a band and the next one can sound completely different, but with Madcon, you can tell its them from the very start.
Now whether or not that’s a good thing is completely up to you; personally I like a band with a diverse mix of sounds, but then again, some of the most successful musicians are instantly recognisable, and this is something that can be essential in making a solid reputation for an act.
The tune behind the track has a a really funky, upbeat groove and randomly makes me want to drink Malibu and dance around in the sun… yet, judging by the amount of snow falling outside, that probably isn’t my finest idea.
With some great remixes to go with the original single; this is going to be a sure fire hit on dance floors in the coming months; however, I’m sad to say that it probably won’t be finding it’s way into my CD collection; simply for fear of it being overplayed to the point I start to hate it!
