Empire Of The Sun - We Are The People
When I first heard this song on the radio this morning, I must admit, I thought to myself; “what this bloody hell is this nonsense!” but, lo and behold as I listen to it more and more, it starts to really grow on me.
I don’t know why this happens with music, I could start off thinking a song is the worst thing I’ve ever heard, but then grow to love it, or I could love it at first, but then hear it so much that I begin to despise it… it’s a vicious circle I know.
Anyway, We Are The People is the second single to be taken from their debut album, Walking On A Dream, and they do seem to have quite a niche fan base lurking in the shadows, ready to make them on of the most sought-after bands of this summer.
In all, the track, is a laid back summer tune that would provide the perfect soundtrack to a lazy evening sat around a fire, toasting marshmallows and drinking can after can of Carlsberg with your closest friends.
To say I’m not usually a fan of this ’kind’ of music, it actually makes me pretty happy and smiley! Result! Well done Empire folk!
