I love it, I love it I Love it! Wow, I really didn’t think I’d be an Animal Collective fan after hearing my friends talk about them, but after listening to their debut single; I think I’m in love!
So it’s five an a half minutes long, which is a bit over to top for a debut single, but it’s just blissful; though I normally hate the ‘robotic / computer’ sounds that people seem to be emitting recently; when it’s teamed with such enigmatic vocals it’s just bloody brilliant!
The sublime sounds leave you feeling relaxed and in a tranquil haven until a slow bass beat finds its way in slowly but surely and makes you start to move around ever so carefully as the music builds up around you, almost like you’re breaking out of an egg or protective cocoon.
Before you ask, no I’m not on drugs, I know I haven’t rented like this for a long time, but this single is without a doubt something you need to check out, regardless of what musical genre you’re into, because if you really appreciate good music; that is put together with thought and care, this is definitely for you.
It is a little repetitive, but that is what makes it so great I think, the song progresses on just one or two chords and rhythms; it really is something special, and it’s about time we have a real musician finding their way onto a music scene that seems to give more of a shit about looking good and snorting cocaine.
