It's quite a shame that, seemingly, this Download Festival slot was essentially Silverstein's England farewell.
No solid details are available just yet, although Shane Told seemed fairly frank and honest during the show and on Twitter.
If this is how Silverstein end their trips over here then, unfortunately, they haven't gone out on a high.
It's not that it was a terrible performance, but the band had already admitted to us that it had been a terrible, long day.
That said, it's a testament to Sivlerstein's dedication that they did try their best to heat up a lukewarm crowd.
Sadly, those in attendance were largely subdued in their reactions, only pockets of the tent singing back the words to tracks like 'My Heroine' and 'Smile In Your Sleep'.
Someone asking, before the set, who was going to be playing and 'are they any good' summed up the muted reaction for what is usually a great live band.
Silverstein did do their best to use their energy on-stage to get a similar response from the crowd, but repeated calls for circle pits didn't result in anything like they'd hoped.
It was a show that never really got going, with the audience (who cared more about avoiding the rain than the band) to blame rather than Silverstein themselves.
By the time 'Broken Stars' came to an end, the crowd seemed both confused and apethetic to the announcements that this would be the band's final England show.
If this is Silverstein's curtain call over here, it's a shame they didn't go out on the high this performance deserved.
