Pussycat Dolls

Pussycat Dolls

The former burlesque dancers dazzled the audience with songs old and new with breath taking dance routines and amazing support acts creating a party atmosphere for one of the talked about tours of the year.

The five piece girl band fronted by superstar Nicole Scherzinger sang an array of their hits from over the past four years. The crowd were shocked as all the girls sang a solo as the girls are usually overshadowed by Nicole. They proved they have talent which should be shown on future singles, however Nicole was clearly the strongest singer and has such a stage presence about her, she is a born performer and is the Beyonce of the Pussycat Dolls.

Their set began with a song from their new album Doll Domination, Take Over the World and entered on personalised diamante motorbikes dressed in the bands stereotypical attire of PVC cat suits as the girls lived up to their ostentatious image. With the girls having sold out massive arenas throughout the world this sing title looks almost certain to become true as these dolls look set to dominate the world of music in 2009.

The girls sang all their classic song such as Beep, I Don’t Need a Man and Buttons and most of their songs off their new album which secured a top ten place in the British charts. The show put the audience through a whirlwind of emotions, with the teary rendition of Stickwitu and the party atmosphere of new album track Bottle Pop and What You Think About That featuring Missy Elliot.

Even the interval was exciting for the army of fans as Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton was there to support his girlfriend Nicole and gaggles of girls swooned over the star and he happily chatted and posed for pictures with besotted fans.

They ended the show with their first and one of the most memorable singles Don’t Cha and latest single When I Grow Up to end the show with a bang and injected a party atmosphere to cheer the crowd up from the miserable and icy night waiting outside for them.

The girls managed to escape the usual trend of embarrassing support act by bagging R&B favourite NeYo and this years hottest new music star Lady Gaga to kick start the show.

NeYo sang his classic songs such as the upbeat Closer and serenaded the crowd with his recent single Miss Independent. He also sang an array of hits which he had written for stars such as Jennifer Hudson’s Spotlight and Beyonce’s Irreplaceable showing his huge amount of talent. His smooth and sexy voice proved a hit with the female dominated audience and well and truly warmed the crowd up for the main act.

Lady Gaga was dressed in her usual quirky attire with statement glasses and created the party atmosphere that Pussycat Dolls continued. She sang some songs from her new album including Pokerface and Paparazzi but did not really warm the crowd up until her last number of the set her recent single Just Dance, which warmed up the vocal chords of the crowd.

All these great acts and talent on the same stage was a great night out and there was no member of the crowd left disappointed or felt cheated of the hefty price tag for the tickets. The Pussycat Dolls are continuing the Doll Domination tour around the world and will next be appearing in England on Britney’s comeback tour this summer- we can’t wait to see the dolls in action again!!
