In an era of music where a lucky break on a reality show seems to top talent and natural progression, One Sixth of Tommy are a breath of fresh air.
Three girls who all play guitar, with great voices to match, have crafted a beautiful debut album.
Carried by great melodies and chilled out instrumentation, You're In My Head is one way to keep the feelings of summer going as we head into the Autumn months.
Charming and innocent, the girls' harmonies are simply beautiful on tracks like 'Everything's OK'.
The album doesn't really wander outside the acoustic/folk/pop sound, but with songs as good as lead single 'The Pact', it doesn't need to.
It never feels repetitive, and the latter would please any fans of the Juno Soundtrack, with an infectious and warm instrumentation.
The occasional percussion doesn't impose on the acoustic sound of You're In My Head, helping the tracks in which it does make an appearance.
With acts like Sophie Madeleine coming through at the moment, One Sixth of Tommy still manage to stand out on their debut album.
Kept stripped down without feeling too simple, You're In My Head is a sophisticated, chilled out debut that showcases very real talent.
