Girls Aloud

Girls Aloud

Looking fabulous in an array of teeny outfits, lashings of fake tan, and huge false eyelashes, the girls treated everybody at the Echo Arena to a magical, sparkling performance.

The super-successful girl band made their dramatic entrance to their first single from the album, The Promise, on pedestals ascending from beneath the stage, which had the audience shrieking in delight.  Their shimmering golden dresses and angel wings were the first of five spectacular costume changes.

The hysteria only rose as they performed more perfectly choreographed routines to songs from the album such as Fix Me Up- thich was the five some grinding on poles-, Miss You Bow Wow, and Revolution in the Head, as well as their popular single The Loving Kind.

The old classics were not neglected either, and the band bounced enthusiastically through Something Kinda Ooh and their debut single Sound of the Underground, as well as a gentler performance of Call The Shots, which had everybody waving their hands along.

Halfway through the concert, the girls were lifted over the audience and transported to a stage in the middle of the arena, whilst singing their most recent single Untouchable.

At this point, excitement reached fever pitch as they were joined by five hunky half-naked male dancers for a frantic rendition of Sexy, No, No, No before things calmed down just a little bit as they performed a rousing cover of James Morrison’s Broken Strings.

Last night was clearly Nicola Roberts’s night, as she declared she was ‘delighted’ to be back in her home town. Looking pale and undoubtedly beautiful, the audience screamed every time she sang a line. Not even the gorgeous Cheryl commanded as many cheers!

The concert ended on a high note with a medley of their greatest hits, including The Show, Can’t Speak French, and another stunning snippet of their opener, The Promise.

One thing’s for sure: these girls sure know how to entertain a crowd and left us all wanting more.
