Celebrating the launch of Bullet For My Valentine's third proper album, Fever, MySpace hosted a secret show at O2's Islington Academy. Entry by invitation only, the small venue was packed with a mix of super-fans and industry big-wigs.
The new album comes two years after 'Scream Aim Fire', and hails a return to acclaimed 2005 album, The Poison. After hearing the new tracks, the future looks set to be as bright as the past.
As good as they've always been, Bullet's show was a superb demonstration of a maturing metalcore band. Matt Tuck, who became a dad in March, showed no signs no mellowing and got straight into the dirty work of torturing the mic as though the group hadn't ever stopped touring.
The true test of the album will now come as it is released into record shops up and down the country. But from the reaction from tonight's crowd, Bullet have nothing to worry about.
