Jaret and Eric took to the acoustic stage on Saturday, met by an unexpectedly large audience.
Indeed, Jaret noted that it was the biggest acoustic audience Bowling For Soup had played for.
This wasn't necessarily a good thing, and did harm the set somewhat. It was out of the band's control, but the crowd stretched back so far that the sounds of Skunk Anansie at the Main Stage all but drowned them out.
Many in the crowd were clearly annoyed, but the fact that they stayed anyway showed how good these acoustic sets are.
It was a short set, with no real big surprises which was a bit disappointing, although 'My Wena' followed by the theme song from Phineas and Ferb was a brilliant move.
The crowd created a great atmosphere for singalongs of '1985' and 'Girl All The Bad Guys Want', which ended the set in style.
BFS have clearly done exceptional acoustic shows before (touring acoustically in the UK two years in a row), but this fell flat at times, mainly due to the sound issues.
Thankfully, they fared much better on the Main Stage the following day. The rain stopped just for a while, and BFS proved that their numorous Download appearances are deserved.
They're not a metal band, or even a close fit for the festival, but they got everyone singing along, kicking their set off with 'The Bitch Song'.
The set felt disjointed, but that was down to some hilarious 'skits' in between songs, including one of two giant inflatable sheep on the stage being penetrated by an inflatable penis from the crowd.
BFS were clearly loving every minute of this set, despite only fitting 9 songs in.
There weren't any surprises, with it just being an extended version of their acoustic set.
That won't have mattered to anyone in attendence though, as BFS proved that they're still an exciting, hilarious and just plain fun live band.
