The front reads âExplicit contentâ making this the biggest understatement made on the album. He may be hailed as a lyrical master but Ludicrous seems to have run out of vocab on Theater of the Mind resorting to what can only be described as effinâ and jeffinâ.
Although typical of a rapper of his calibre, by the end of the album, the aggression and arrogance that heâs normally loved for, is tired and stale.
Claiming to âsend lyric bullets right at your doorâ, Ludacris is fully aware of the persona heâs created but with this being his sixth studio album, it would be to his benefit to throw in something new.
Like Snoop Dogg is famous for his smoking habits, Ludacris is just as well known for his obscenities. Lyrics aside however, the samples in the background are classy, sophistaced and somehow completely appropriate.
He may brag about his wealth â âIâm rich bitchâ - but with the amount of guest stars on the album, his bragging is justified with the likes of superstars such as Floyd âMoneyâ Mayweather in Undisputed, Chris Brown in What Them Girls Like, Lil Wayne in Last of a Dying Breed and Jay-Z and Nas in I Do It For Hip Hop. Among others.
Scraping the time together in between filming his cameo in his latest movie Max Payne, you wouldnât notice that Theater of the Mind was not given his full attention â after all, it may not be to everyoneâs taste, but it is certainly of the high standard Ludacris is known for producing.
