19 year old PW is about to become your new favourite rapper. With a successful mixtape under his belt and fans ranging from chart toppers Cover Drive and Dappy through to UK star Chipmunk, PW, aka Akheim Allen is set to show you he is about to not only go overground, but stratospheric.with his brand new sensational single ‘On My Way’ featuring Mark Asari (one third of Island Records’ boyband Encore), released independently on 1st April 2012.
Hailing from Edmonton, North London, PW began writing his own lyrics as a hobby from his early teens in between school breaks and home time but had decided to put it on the backburner while concentrating on his GCSE’s, but sure enough this didn’t last long.
After being inspired by the successes made by the older MC’s from his college and area - none other than Chipmunk and Wretch 32, PW realised the possibilities of doing what he loved as a career and bursting with ambition, he decided to push himself as an artist and wasted no time in getting to work, spending every spare hour in the recording studio honing his skills and perfecting the hallmark ‘PW’ sound and style.
Charming, amiable and driven, PW has gone from strength to strength, developing an impressive online presence and ever-growing dedicated fan-base along the way.
His debut mixtape ‘NKOTB’ received overwhelming support (received over 1000 download within hours of being released) and spawned buzz tracks ‘W.I.N.N.E.R’, ‘Sensible’ and ‘Not Thinking About You’, all of which have had strong support and rotation at TV and radio from 1Xtra, Capital FM, MTV Base and Kiss to name a few.
More recently, PW has supported Dappy on his nationwide UK tour and just performed a sold out show opening up for US R&B phenomenon Mindless Behaviour at the Islington Academy.
Fast-forward to 2012 and it’s evident that PW’s diligence has paid off immensely as he gears up to release his new single ‘On My Way’ featuring Mark Asari and produced by Pantha (recently worked with Cheryl Cole and Wretch 32).
‘On My Way’ excellently infuses electronic and live sounds with an infectious and catchy hook; ‘On My Way’ also provides a candid yet identifiable and motivational song with great anthemic potential that is sure to also sit as comfortably at radio as it will on dance floors with Radio 1, Choice and 1Xtra giving it spins already.
As the first cut to be taken from his forthcoming EP (title TBA)’On My Way’ firmly solidifies PW as one of the UK’s most promising new talents.
PW’s ‘On My Way’ featuring Mark Asari will be released on 1st April 2012
