Hip-hop star T.I. releases Remember Me, his brand new single featuring the talents of Grammy Award-winning R&B star Mary J Blige, on August 24 via Atlantic Records.
Produced by Polow Da Don (Akon, Usher, R.Kelly), Remember Me carries a powerful message of remembrance. This is perhaps particularly significant at this time – T.I. is currently absent from his family and fans while he serves time behind bars for weapons offences.
The brand new single comes a week before the release of Paper Trail: Case Closed. This is a digital EP including Remember Me and an additional four tracks that did not appear on T.I’s US number 1 album, Paper Trail. Debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 and selling 568,000 copies in its first week, Paper Trail is the Atlanta native’s most successful album to date.
It features collaborations with an A-list cast – Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Rihanna and Ludacris to mention but a few. The new track, Remember Me, follows the success of Dead and Gone with Justin Timberlake and the UK number 2 single Live Your Life, featuring Rihanna.
T.I., once the self-proclaimed King of the South, has gone further than those borders to put Atlanta on the map worldwide. With two Grammy Awards under his belt for Best Rap Solo Performance for What You Know in 2007 and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or a Group in 2009 for Swagga Like Us, in addition to a Viewers Choice Award at the 2009 BET Awards, the superstar is still very much at the top of his game. “When I make LPs, I get into focus,” he says. “You have to drag me out of the studio sometimes. This is my passion.”
