See Clear Now is the hotly anticipated new album by rapper, producer, MC Legend - Wiley due out on December 8th via the legendary Asylum Record label, a division of Atlantic Records.
Entering ground-breaking new musical territory, Wiley switches up the scene on this coming of age album which flows like a heavy-mixture of grime fused with funky-house with elements of everything wrapped in something new. Guests include Hot Chip, Kano, Daniel Merriweather, new kid on the grime block Scorcher, Pharrell protégé Kenna, Sam Young and Mark Ronson to name a few.
The new album See Clear Now, will include the forthcoming, âCa$h In My Pocketâ single, due out on December 1st digitally and physically. Produced by Mark Ronson and featuring the vocal talents of Daniel Merriweather, Wiley has read the mood of a nation hit by the global economic crises and has come up with an ode to the credit crunch of sorts.
The album will also include the silver certified, Bless Beats produced smash hit single, âWearing My Rolexâ, which stormed the UK charts at number 2 earlier this year and the weather defying club smash â âSummertimeâ.
Kano joins a pensive Wiley on the piano led â5amâ which sees the two finding the time to appreciate the stillness of the twilight zone and vital unseen workers (cleaners, road sweepers, security guards paid by the hour) that enable London to function.
The house beat driven âCanât Stop Thinkingâ communicates Wileyâs epiphany that now is the time to make the most of his abundant, under-rated talents. âIâve been enjoying making this music coming up with a different sound and people can judge it how they want to judge it but, Iâm not going to be limited to one type of soundâ, says Wiley on his new albumâs musical direction. âWhat Iâve learned is the more open minded you are, the more open-minded people accept youâ.
It is impossible to overstate the importance and impact that Wiley has had on UK urban music. From UKG's 'Nicoleâs Groove' to being a member of Pay As You Go, Boy Better Know and, of course, Roll Deep, this enigmatic MC and prolific producer has more than earned the title of Godfather of Grime but is now perfectly placed to take the scene to new boundaries with what will no doubt be his biggest album to date.
