Monday November 24th sees the release of “The Alesha Show†– the sensational new album from UK superstar Alesha Dixon.
‘The Alesha Show’ is a thrilling mixture of the brightest, shiniest nu-pop, uber-slick modern R&B, 60’s flavoured tunes and show stopping ballads. Much of the album has been co-written and produced by Alesha and music maestro Brian Higgins and his Xenomania team (Girls Aloud,), who between them have delivered a genre hopping musical feast including the mambo-tastic smash single ‘The Boy Does Nothing’, the dreamily acoustic ‘Don’t Ever Let Me Go’, the go-go girl blast of ‘Cinderella Shoe’ and the frankly sublime ‘Italians Do It Better’.
"There comes a point in your life where everything you have ever dreamt of has the potential to actually happen", Alesha says, "for me that moment is now. As early as I can remember I have wanted this moment. I look to music as my guide, so to step into this magical world is a blessing."
‘The Alesha Show’ showcases her dream perfectly. At the opposite end of the scale from ‘The Boy Does Nothing’, ‘Do You Know The Way It Feels’ is a dramatic ballad written by the legendary Dianne Warren, writer of such hits as ‘Unbreak My Heart’ and ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ produced by Stephen Lipson at Sarm West.
Other jewels in this album’s crown include ‘Breathe Slow’, a world class R&B tune from Soulshock & Karlin and Harold Lily recorded at Quincy Jones’ Westlake Studios where Thriller was made; ‘Hand It Over’ written with James Fontleroy, Frankie Storm & The Underdogs (creators of the world’s biggest airplay hit of 2008, Jordin Spark’s ‘No Air’); the blistering ‘Let’s Get Excited’ from Redzone (makers of global hits including Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’); and the sublime ‘Chasing Ghosts’, a collaboration between Alesha and Steve Booker (Duffy ‘Mercy’).
