Nelly In No-Show Lawsuit
Nelly has found himself at the centre of a new lawsuit after bogus promoters allegedly conned event producers into handing over cash for a concert that never hit the stage.
Executives at The Loop claim they paid Capital Connections Agency (CCA) $40,000 (£25,000) to book the rapper for a New Year's Eve.
In documents filed in Manhattan on Friday, executives claim the money was wired to CCA boss Durby Brandon, but Nelly was a no-show. Brandon initially denied receiving the funds, and then claimed it arrived a day late.
He maintains he kept the cash due to a breach of contract. The suit alleges "CCA is a criminal enterprise". Executives at The Loop are suing CCA for the $40,000 booking fee and $250,000 (£156,250) for Nelly's alleged "no-show", reports the New York Daily News.
Jaheim In Trouble
Jaheim is facing charges of speeding and drug possession after he was pulled over by police in New Jersey at the end of last month.
The Just In Case hitmaker, real name Jaheim Hoagland, was stopped by Hillsborough cops on 28 March (10) after they spotted him driving over the local 30 miles-per-hour (48 kilometres-per-hour) speed limit.
But he found himself in even bigger trouble when officers approached his car and smelled marijuana fumes.
During a search of the vehicle, cops found a bud of marijuana underneath the driver’s seat, cigar wrappers and cigar paper, which is consistent with marijuana use.
Wu Tang Clan Star Has Brain Surgery
Wu Tang Clan affiliate Hell Razah is recovering after undergoing surgery for a brain aneurysm.
The rapper, real name Chron Smith, was admitted to a U.S. hospital last Tuesday and went under the knife on Wednesday. Doctors insist Smith, who is in a coma, is recovering well and is expected to regain consciousness later this week.
Wu Tang Clan collaborator Bronze Nazareth confirmed the news in a post on his Twitter.com account and called on fans to pray for the hip-hop star.
He wrote, "Hell Razah... Yo Lord push thru (sic) this! Much love fam (family) your blessings are needed so fight thru it (sic)!!! All Love."
