Trey Songz has been hit with an $18 million lawsuit over his song Bottoms Up.

Chiefs at Doc Mob Records allege they hired producer Milton James to produce the original, copyrighted track for their company. James later teamed with producer Kane Beatz for the song, which was eventually released by Songz and Nicki Minaj last year.

The lawsuit, filed in New York earlier this month on behalf of Doc Mob Records, executive Derrick Price and IHip Hop Music, claims Bottoms Up was contained on Songz's hit album Passion, Pain and Pleasure but only listed Kane Beatz as producer.

Price alleges he sent multiple cease-and-desist letters to Atlantic Records and Trey Songz, but they were ignored by the defendants in the case, according to AllHipHop.com.

The lawsuit names Trey Songz, music company Atlantic Records, manager Gee Robertson, producer Kane Beatz and Kodak. The photo company has been dragged into the proceedings for using the song in an advertising campaign featuring Songz.
