Stryder Gives Money Lessons To Teens
British Rapper Tinchy Stryder turned teacher at a school in London on Thursday (04Mar10) in a bid to promote money management amongst U.K. teenagers.
The Number 1 hitmaker has become the spokesperson for the new educational campaign My Money, aimed at teaching youngsters how handle their cash.
And Stryder headed into a classroom at St Matthew Academy in the British capital to teach pupils an important lesson in finances.
He says, "I believe, whatever age you are - even kids with piggy banks - as long as you are aware of money you should understand how saving money is really important in life.
"If you've got something saved, as you get older saving can turn into investment."
T.I. Release Date Set
Rapper T.I. will be a free man on 26 March (10) - the hip-hop star will be allowed to return home following a three month stint in a halfway house.
The Live Your Life hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., began a 366-day sentence last year (09) for charges of weapons possession following his arrest in 2007.
He was transferred from a prison in Arkansas to a halfway house near his home in Atlanta, Georgia in December (09), after serving seven months behind bars.
And now home is in sight for the star - he has just three weeks left until he is allowed to return to his family property on 26 March.
His lawyer Steve Sadow tells MTV.com, "That date is correct. T.I. is now serving the remainder of his sentence in home confinement under the supervision of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons."
Jay-Z Fan Storms Stage At Show
Hip-Hop star Jay-Z was involved in a security scare on Wednesday night (03Mar10), when a fan stormed the stage during his concert.
The 99 Problems hitmaker was performing at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. and was midway through a song with rapper Memphis Bleek when an overzealous reveller managed to evade security to get closer to his idol.
The male fan ran from the back of the stage and stood behind Jay-Z for a few seconds, before the star's entourage stepped in and returned him to the audience.
Swedish DJ Jassy Sentenced To 15 Years To Life
One out one in as Swedish hip-hop star David Jassy has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the murder of a Los Angeles pianist in a 2008 road rage incident.
Jassy's last-minute request to reduce his second-degree murder conviction to manslaughter was rejected by Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson on Thursday (04Mar10).
The 35-year-old DJ has been jailed since his arrest after beating John Osnes to death after the pianist banged on his car during an encounter on a pedestrian crossing.
The jury in the recent trial rejected claims Jassy acted in self-defence.
Jassy will be eligible for parole in 2024, when he is 49.
