Rapper B.G. Pleads Not Guilty To Gun Charge
Rapper B.G. has pleaded not guilty to a charge of gun possession following his arrest in November (09).
The hip-hop star, a former member of Bryan 'Baby' Williams' Hot Boyz group, was taken into custody in his native New Orleans, Louisiana last year (09) after he was found with three firearms in his car - two of which had been reported stolen.
Police charged him with felony weapons possession, while two associates were also booked on illegal gun counts.
The rapper, real name Christopher Dorsey, appeared in a New Orleans court on Thursday (11Feb10), where he entered the plea.
B.G., who had previously been arrested on drug charges in a separate incident, was ordered to undergo a drug test next week (begs15Feb10) and cover the $350 (£219) cost of the test.
Epworth Named Music Producer Of The Year
Paul Epworth, who has worked with U2, Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Bloc Party, has been named Producer of the Year at the Music Producers' Guild Awards.
The musician took the top prize at the ceremony in London on Thursday night (11Feb10).
Epworth, who co-produced Florence and the Machine's debut album Lungs, was handed the trophy by the band's singer Florence Welch.
The producer, who began his career serving tea at Beatles producer Sir George Martin's Air Studios, says, "I wouldn't be here without the freedom that the digital revolution has given me creatively. But also I know I'm lucky to have had that old tuition from people who worked with The Beatles, The Doors, The Beach Boys."
Other big winners on the night included British rapper Dizzee Rascal, who picked up the Best Album award for Tongue N' Cheek, while rockers Muse were handed the Best Single for Uprising.
Meanwhile, Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, who signed Bob Marley and U2, received the Outstanding Contribution Award.
