Minaj Is Picture Perfect For Casio Cameras
Rap sensation Nicki Minaj has been unveiled as the new spokesmodel for the latest Casio camera, which means she will face off with her labelmate and rumoured lover Drake.
The Check It Out hitmaker has teamed up with bosses at Casio America to promote the Casio Tryx, which she will help to launch with a special performance in New York next month (Apr11).
In a statement, Minaj says, "Casio sure knows how to design a camera. I'm excited to be part of the Tryx Out: NYC 2011 launch party and look forward to working together with Casio to make sure this camera gets the party it deserves! With a Tryx in my hand, there's no doubt that I'll be able to take incredible images and video on tour and beyond."
Hip-hop group The Roots will also perform at the event.
Minaj's Young Money Records pal Drake joined Rihanna, rapper Pitbull and singer Trey Songz to front Kodak's So Kodak campaign last year (10).
Jay-Z Signs Santigold To Roc Nation
Cult Hip-Hop star Santigold has joined Rihanna and Willow Smith on the roster at rap superstar Jay-Z's management firm, Roc Nation.
The Lights Out singer previously worked with her new boss on the 2009 song Brooklyn We Go Hard, and now she has cemented a deal for Jay-Z to oversee her career.
Confirming the news to fans via Twitter.com, she writes, "It's official! Made the change to Roc Nation Management!!!"
Santigold's last project was released in 2008.
Ja Rule Delivering Album On Eve Of Prison Term
Prison-bound rapper Ja Rule will release his new album the day before he has to surrender to authorities and begin a two-year sentence behind bars.
The Always On Time star, real name Jeffrey Atkins, was handed the punishment after pleading guilty to attempted weapons possession in December (10), stemming from his 2007 arrest in New York.
He will begin his prison stint on 8 June (11), but not before Ja Rule delivers a farewell present to fans - his upcoming disc, Renaissance Project, will hit music retailers on 7 June (11).
