Rapper Lil Wayne will be standing trial on gun and drug charges in Phoenix Arizona, in March 2010.

The Cash Money rapper will be facing charges stemming from an incident early last year when his tour bus was stopped and searched after he appeared at a show in the state of Arizona.

Lil Wayne is also expecting his third child this year, another son with singer Nivea. Only last month it was announced that he and actress Lauren London welcomed their first child into the world.

Hip-Hop Shows Under Scrutiny in the Sunshine State


Councilors in the area of Ford Myers are contemplating the damaging effect that Hip-Hop concerts have on the community after an incident at a recent concert resulted in one man being stabbed.

Even though one individual has called for a ban of Hip-Hop shows in the city, other members of the cities council have acknowledged that security has to be tightened up as an all out ban on concerts in the area is a rather unrealistic approach to combating the violence.

A bouncer was stabbed at a Plies concert in the area last month which has led to the unrest amongst the cities notable figures.

Jay Z Crowned Hottest in the Game

Rapper and music mogul Jay Z, who recently released his eleventh studio album The Blueprint 3 was anointed MTV’s Hottest MC in the game last week.

The rapper who beat out MCs such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Raekwon and Kanye West to name but a few.

However the list has caused serious controversy with the likes of Detroit’s very own and Eminem and the Southern rappers Ludacris and TI being omitted from the Top Ten. The full list can be seen below:

Eminem Settles with Apple

Rapper Eminem who has been represented in court this week by his publishing company Eight Mile Style has reached a deal with Apple Inc after the Digital downloading giant was accused of selling over 90 songs from the rappers catalogue that it had no permission to sell.

Apple and Eight Mile Style settled for an amicable amount, of which the details have not been made public. Apple cited it was given permission from Aftermath Entertainment to distribute and sell the songs.
