Well, well, well who would have thought that Bow Wow would be announcing his new label home at midnight last night, De La Soul gear up to re-release 3 Feet High and Rising, twenty years after it first hit shelves, C-Murder gets life and 50 Cent takes to the stage with Souljah Boy on Friday night.
Bow Wow Links with Cash Money
Having parted ways with his long time label home Columbia earlier this year, Bow Wow made an announcement last night via his Twitter page that he will now be housed at Cash Money, the label home of Lil Wayne, Baby and newcomer Drake.
Having seen his final project on Columbia, New Jack City Part 2 secure dismal sales Bow Wow who has been active on the Hip-Hop scene since he was only six years old is happy to relocate.
Talking to his fans through a live stream the rapper who was also signed to Death Row back in the nineties by Dr. Dre explained “Any Bow Wow fan that I let down..what I am getting ready to do, I got y'all. I apologize to the fans that I let down. It’s finna to go down. Its on now, baby. Me, Drake and Weezy…lets get to the money.”
It is unclear when we can expect to see a new album from Bow Wow.
De La Soul Re-release
Twenty years since the ground breaking 3 Feet High and Rising album from New York collective De La Soul hit the charts, the trio are excited to be re-releasing the project.
Spawning tracks such as You Know, Me myself and I, De La Soul hope to re-issue the album which has featured on various Best Album lists over the years, along with new material.
The trio made up of Trugoy, Posdnous and Maseo are currently working on their current album You’re Welcome which features Public Enemy which they hope to release themselves along with their classic debut.
C Murder gets Life
A life sentence was given to Corey Miller on Friday after a Judge ruled the guilty verdict in the murder trial of 16 year old Steven Thomas may have been made to hastily on Tuesday when the jury returned after deliberation.
The verdict now stands and a retrial was denied by Judge Hans Liljeberg. Ron Rokowsky, the legal representation of the younger brother of Master P has also pulled out of any dealings with C Murder after legal bills had not been paid.
50 Cent Turns Up on Stage
Supporting what appears to be his new found friend, rapper 50 Cent made an appearance at the Anaheim leg of the America’s Most Wanted Tour on Friday night.
Joining Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy on stage, 50, born Curtis Jackson has openly traded slurs with the headlining act of the tour, Lil Wayne. But according to Soulja Boy the reason for 50’s appearance was in order to enhance his own show and outdo the other acts on the tour.
In other Soulja Boy related news, the Crank Dat rapper thanked 50 Cent for purchasing him a new tour bus for his birthday this week while on MTV. The youngster explained that the new bus which comes fully equipped with a recording studio will allow the rapper the chance to record while touring.
