Starting off the week, it looks like 50 Cent is about to add horror movies to his list of credentials this year, Akon is being sued for not paying child support, Jay Z continues to be the focal point of Game’s shows and more financial strife for Foxy Brown.
50 Links with Forrest Whitaker
Rapper 50 Cent is said to be starring alongside Oscar© winner Forest Whitaker in a remake of the classic horror story The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
The Abel Ferrara movie will be 50 Cent’s first attempt at a horror movie, having so far only dabbled in dramas.
The movie which has yet to be given a release date is highly praised by Executive Producer Luc Roeg who said "The combination of such formidable talent in front of and behind the camera will turn this wonderful gothic story into a modern classic for a whole new generation.”
In other 50 Cent news, the rapper has just recently slashed the price of his Connecticut mansion to $10.9 million after originally putting it on the market two years ago for almost double that amount. He purchased the property from Mike Tyson for $4.1 million back in 2003.
Akon Sued
Father of five Akon is being sued by Sara Coleman for child support.
Paternity was confirmed of the six month old little girl only 30 days ago and lawyers for the Konvict star have acknowledged that he will be handling the papers in a timely fashion.
The Senegalese rapper/singer/producer is currently promoting his third album Freedom which has already sold over 600,000 copies.
Game continues his tirade against Jay Z
Performing at Hammersmith Apollo on Friday night, Game continued his verbal assault on Jay Z.
With fans accompanying the Compton based rapper in his attack on the entertainer/businessman who has yet to respond to the taunts thrown in his direction while Game has been performing all over Europe.
He did in a recent concert explain that he has no grievance with Jay Z’s singer wife, Beyonce and that his issue was only with her husband.
It is unclear as to what has encouraged this outburst from the platinum selling rapper, but sources close to Jay Z say he has no interest in responding to the continuous lyrical attacks on his person.
More Strife for Foxy
Foxy Brown joins the long list of entertainers that face the wrath of the IRS it was announced this week.
The Brooklyn rapstress, born Inga Marchand has amassed tax debts of over $600,000 dating back to 2003. According to papers filed against her, she failed to pay taxes in 2003,2004, 2005 and 2006.
The Black Roses rapper has faced various legal troubles over the last few years having been incarcerated in Rikers Island in September of 2007 for an attack on two manicurists in an NY beauty salon and also being sued by publishing powerhouse Simon and Schuster for failing to turn in a book that she had already received an advance on back in 2006.
