As we kick start another week here is a brief run down as to what is going on in the world of Urban music. Redman indicates that Eminem’s Shady label might be a great place for him, just where TI will be spending the next year when he turns himself in, Drake concert erupts in gunfire and is Jamie Foxx ready to take on yet another iconic singer on the Silver Screen?

Redman wants to jump ship

Def Jam recording artist Redman who has been signed to the label since his music career started in 1990 has voiced an interest in joining Shady Records, the label masterminded by Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg.

The rapper, who with his longtime cohort releases Blackout 2 this week, believes that Shady focuses on Hip-Hop, something which Def Jam his current home have been accused of neglecting over the last few years.

Eminem who is currently promoting his Relapse album has voiced an interest in signing Redman a couple of times now.

TI to head to Arkansas

When he turns himself in a week tomorrow TI will be spending his one year and a day prison sentence in Forest City Arkansas.

The Whatever You Like rapper will join the low level security which houses 1,500 offenders and will be like the rest of the inmates assigned a cell mate and given work to do during his time there after being found guilty of gun charges.

Forest City Jail is approximately 550 miles from the rappers home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Drake Concert Disrupted due to Gunfire

Toronto newcomer Drake who has been co-signed by Lil Wayne faced problems this weekend when a show in Chicago was shut down after violence broke out at the House of Blues.

Numerous fights broke out at the venue early Saturday morning and one concert goer was shot outside as officials began to evacuate the premises.

Drake proceeded to cancel an after party that had been planned.

Jamie Foxx takes on another leading role? 

It has been rumoured that Jamie Foxx who took the Oscar in 2004 for his role as the late Ray Charles in the biopic movie may be looking at another role, equally as important when it comes to the time line of popular music.

Foxx is tipped to be  a favorite in the running for Frank Sinatra, a role which has also attracted the likes of Harry Connick Jr., Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The movie which is slated to be directed by Martin Scorsese will cover the life of the famed Rat Pack singer until he died in 1998.
