Max B has been convicted on felony murder charges relating to a botched 2006 robbery.
The fallen MC, a former affiliate of hip-hop star Jim Jones' Byrd Gang Crew, was accused of masterminding a plot to rob David Taylor and Allan 'Jay' Plowden at a New Jersey hotel in September 2006.
Max B's former lover, Gina Conway, testified against the star during the trial, alleging he was came up with the plan in a jealous rage after she boasted about the expensive gifts her new boyfriend Plowden had lavished on her.
She claimed the rapper hired his step-brother Kelvin Leerdam to steal from the men's hotel room. But the incident turned violent and Taylor was left with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Max B, real name Charly Wingate, argued he was not in the state at the time of the robbery - but on Tuesday, a jury at Bergen County Court House found both he and Leerdam guilty on nine out of the 11 counts filed against them.
They were immediately taken into custody and Max B is due to be hauled back into court on 30 July to learn his punishment.
Max B, who plans to appeal the ruling, says in a statement, "Thanks for all the support. Don't forget about me. I'll be back out there again, giving you the music you wanna hear."
