M.I.A.'s hard-to-watch new video has been banned by YouTube.com due to its graphic violence and scenes featuring the killing of young boys.

Romain Gavras' Born Free video premiered on M.I.A.'s official website on Monday, but the hitmaker has revealed the promo will not be posted on YouTube.

In a Twitter.com post, M.I.A. initially suggested bosses at her record label UMG were behind the ban, but later clarified that UMG officials were not to blame.

In the promo, military police round up red-headed boys in a series of violent raids, transport them to a remote desert location and then force them to run through a minefield, beating those who make it to death.

In one particularly disturbing scene, a 10-year-old boy is shot in the head in an effort to force the others to start running.
