Jay-Z has beaten his wife Beyonce to lead the nominees for honours at the 10th annual BET Awards.
The rapper has landed five nods, while his wife joins Alicia Keys, Trey Songz and Melanie Fiona with four apiece.
Jay-Z will battle for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best Collaboration (with Keys on Empire State of Mind), Best Video for both Empire State of Mind and Run This Town and the Viewers' Choice award.
Newcomer Drake has picked up three nominations, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. Queen Latifah, who announced the nominations on Tuesday, will host the awards show in Los Angeles on 27 June.
