Wal-Mart Bosses Haven't Banned West's Album
Bosses at U.S. superstore chain Wal-Mart have dismissed Kanye West's accusation that they have banned his new album from their shelves.
West took to his Twitter.com page this week (beg18Oct10) to rant about the negative reaction to the cover of his latest record, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
The rapper alleged executives at Wal-Mart had "banned" the CD, because they deemed the artwork too racy.
Wal-Mart chiefs have now hit back, insisting they never refused to stock the album and claiming West didn't even offer the cover for their approval.
A statement from the company reads, "We're excited about Kanye West's new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd. As always, it's our standard practise to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view."
Atlanta Citizens Fight To Keep T.I. Out Of Jail
Residents of T.I.'s hometown have filed a court motion asking a judge to overturn the rapper's recent jail sentence and send him to rehab instead.
The hip-hop star, who hails from Atlanta, Georgia, was handed an 11-month jail sentence last week (15Oct10) for breaching his probation following an arrest in Los Angeles, which saw him and his wife Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle booked on drug possession charges.
T.I. completed a prison stint on weapons charges last year (09) and is expected to head back to jail when he surrenders to authorities within the next two weeks.
But new court documents filed by "Citizens of the State of Atlanta Georgia" are asking officials to grant the star a reprieve and swap his jail time for a stint in a drug treatment center, according to TMZ.com.
T.I.'s lawyers have confirmed they know nothing about the legal papers and have no plans to appeal the rapper's sentence.
Cam'ron Blasts Ma$E For Funeral Absence
Cam'ron has taken aim at fellow rapper MA$E after he failed to attend the New York funeral of their tragic pal HUDDY 6.
The fallen star, born Andre Hudson, was killed in a car crash earlier this month (Oct10) and he was laid to rest this week (ends22Oct10).
But Ma$e, who recruited Huddy 6 as a member of his group Harlem World, was nowhere in sight - and Cam'ron has voiced his anger on his Twitter.com page.
In reply to a fan who asked whether Ma$e was in attendance at the memorial service, he wrote, "hell no dat f**kin sucka a** n**ga (sic)."
Cam'ron grew up with Huddy 6 in the Big Apple's tough Harlem neighborhood and has previously credited his pal with saving his life when he was shot twice in 2005.
Tyga After Party Marred By Gunshots
An after party for Drake's rapper pal Tyga ended in chaos in the early hours of Friday (22Oct10) when two men were shot outside a club in Connecticut.
Police were called to Club Venue in the city of Britain, where fans had been attending Tyga Live! The Official Young Money Concert After Party, to investigate reports of violence near the entrance of the event.
Cops failed to track down any suspects but are looking to question the driver of a dark gray Acura, who was seen leaving the scene of the crime shortly after gunshots rang out, reports AllHipHop.com.
The injured men were taken to hospital for treatment, although their condition was unknown as FemaleFirst went to press.
The party took place hours after Drake and his Young Money crew performed in nearby Wallingford.
Green's Terror Over Mobo Brawl
British rapper Professor Green has spoken of his terror as a MOBO Awards afterparty descended into violence, forcing the star to cut short his performance and evacuate the venue.
The Just be Good To Green hitmaker picked up the prize for Best U.K. Hip Hop/Grime Act at the prestigious Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in Liverpool, England on Wednesday night (20Oct10) and he attended a post-awards bash to celebrate after the show.
But the party at the city's Hilton Hotel turned nasty when brawls broke out in the crowd, and irate revellers began throwing bottles on stage as Green was performing.
Police were called to deal with the situation and the rapper cut short his set in a bid to escape the scuffles.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "After what happened to me (when I was stabbed in the neck last year) I didn't want to take any chances with someone jumping up on stage, so I just got out of there."
