Hip-hop star Gucci Mane has landed a major label deal with Warner Bros. Records as he attempts to get his career back on track following his recent prison stint.
Mane, real name Radric Davis, was released from an Atlanta, Georgia penitentiary in March after serving time for failing to complete a community service sentence relating to a 2005 assault.
But he has been given a big boost as he plots his rap return - he's quit independent label Big Cat Records and signed to Warner Bros. after the former released a disc of old Gucci Mane tracks that the rapper had no intention of including on his official album.
He says, "I'm no longer signed to, booked by, or working with Big Cat Records or any of its employees in any way. The CD that Big Cat is putting out consists of records that were never planned to make my album and is a non-official release. My fans will get the official Gucci Mane album in August on Warner Bros. Records."
