Eminem has scrapped plans to release a sequel to his Relapse album.
The Without Me hitmaker returned to the charts last year with Relapse, his first release since 2004's Encore.
He revealed his studio sessions with mentor and superproducer Dr. Dre had been so productive, he planned to serve up a double treat for fans by releasing a second project, titled Relapse 2, months later.
Eminem said, "We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff."
The project was originally scheduled to hit music retailers late in 2009, but was pushed back to this year.
However, the hip-hop star disappointed fans on Wednesday by reneging on his decision. In a post on his Twitter.com page, he simply writes, "There is no Relapse 2."
The news comes four months after Eminem re-released his comeback album, Relapse: The Refill, complete with seven new songs that didn't make the original cut.
