50 Cent is expanding his music empire - the hip-hop mogul has launched a new record label.
The In Da Club hitmaker founded his G-Unit Records in 2003 with his manager Sha Money XL. The label hit headlines back in August when 50 ended its deal with Interscope Records and signed a new distribution deal with executives at EMI.
Four months on, the rapper has announced a second imprint, called GNote Records - and he's already signed his first artist, Pheonix, Arizona rapper Hot Rod.
Confirming the news on his Twitter.com blog on Friday, 50 wrote, "@officialhotrod is the first artist of G NOTE he gonna do his numbers watch."
As we went to press, it was not clear which company would handle the new label's distribution.
