It’s been a long time coming but we promise you it’s more than worth the wait. One of the UK’s most prolific and versatile producers Hervé, AKA Joshua Harvey, is back with a new single ‘Better Than A BMX’, released on the 26th February, the first track to be released from his debut artist album ‘Pick Me Up, Sort Me Out, Calm Me Down’ set to drop next year on Cheap Thrills.
Coming in the wake of this year’s club smash and Radio 1 playlisted ‘Together’, ‘Better Than A BMX’ is a perfect teaser for Hervé’s high-octane, bass-heavy full-length, artfully blurring the lines between underground club music and credible pop, firmly laying foundations for next year’s album.
As renowned for his ability to spot and develop talent as for his studio wizardry, his label Cheap Thrills introduced the likes of Fake Blood and Jack Beats to the world and Hervé has collaborated with everyone from Mystery Jets to Katy B.
Continuing that tradition ‘Pick Me Up, Sort Me Out, Calm Me Down’ features not only the likes of Steve Mason, former lead singer of The Beta Band, but also introduces several exciting new vocalists such as Ronika, just tipped by The Guardian for ‘pop greatness in 2012’.
‘Better Than a BMX’ comes complete with remixes from Sedat The Turkish Avenger, Afghan Headspin and Space Cowboy, and a video starring pro-BMX riders Ben Lewis, Peter Sawyer, Paul Ryan, Lloyd Wright and Kayley Ashworth, directed by Rohan Blair-Mangat and produced by the BMX Adidas and Converse Office Lights advert team.
