The Veronicas’ ‘Untouched’ has proved to be an enduring summertime hit. Debuting at #8, the single spent five weeks in the Top 10 and a further three in the Top 20.
Untouched’ also hit the Top 20 of both the TV and radio airplay charts and continues to sell strongly as it approaches 200,000 sales. Now The Veronicas release the follow-up ‘4 Ever’ on September 20th on Warner Bros. Records. It precedes the October 5th release of their new album ‘Hook Me Up.’
Produced and written by Max Martin and Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Pink), ‘4 Ever’ compliments its dynamic rock style with the same attitude and sassiness that made ‘Untouched’ so popular. ‘4 Ever’ will be released on CD and download formats.
The Veronicas will spend the remainder of the summer playing select North American shows and festivals before heading to Japan for the Summer Sonic festival in August. Having previously played shows with Katy Perry and The Jonas Brothers, The Veronicas are also due to join Kelly Clarkson’s Stateside tour later in the year.
Already the biggest name in new Australian pop and now based in Los Angeles, The Veronicas are proving to be a global phenomenon. ‘Hook Me Up’ and the debut album ‘The Secret Life Of…’ both hit #2 on the Australian album charts and reached multi-Platinum status in the process and they’ve proved to be similarly successful in the singles charts with a #1 single and a further four Top 5 hits to their name. Their growing popularity is reflected with over 92 million Myspace plays – over 48 million of which were for ‘Untouched’. A recent Veronicas online game has already been played over a million times.
Championed in the States by Perez Hilton, The Veronicas have already earned two huge hits with ‘Untouched’ and ‘Hook Me Up’ and are also piloting a new reality show for MTV.
