Stephanie McIntosh, who plays Sky Mangel in Neighbours, is releasing her debut single through Universal Records on 25th June 2007. Mistake is a punchy pop anthem and the first single to be taken from her brand new album Tightrope. “It’s not as poppy as people are going to expect, which is exactly what I wanted,” McIntosh says. “I know everyone’s going to have their preconceptions and I want them all to be wrong.”Not just another ballad driven pop machine, Stephanie has worked with some of the best songwriters on her debut album to create an edgy sound. For Steph, Mistake was the obvious choice for her debut single as a perfect introduction to the album and her sound in general. “It’s a really powerful song,” McIntosh says. “We got a vibe from it as soon as it was done. We spent a long time getting it right and it really worked. My voice changed so much since we started recording. It’s like sport, the more you sing your voice gets fitter and fitter so I was really able to belt it out.”Mistake is a slice of energetic pop, which builds up to a fervent chorus of sugar coated angst ridden melodrama. Written by Tom Nichols (Kylie’s ‘Fever’, All Saints’ Black Coffee) and Rami & Arnthor (JLo’s ‘Play’) the debut single from Stephanie McIntosh is a sure fire hit.Mistake is released on 25th June through Universal Records.
