Stephanie McIntosh is set to release her self-penned second single ‘So Do I Say Sorry First’ from her debut album Tightrope through Universal Records on 13 August 2007. Hot on the heels of her breakthrough debut single ‘Mistake’, McIntosh, who plays Sky Mangel in Neighbours, explores a rockier edge to her sound with ‘So Do I Say Sorry First’.It’s about fighting with someone your lover, your mother, your friends whoever. The only reason you fight with someone is because you care about them, Steph says of the song. The guitar-heavy track was recorded in one take in Los Angeles and became the obvious choice for the opening track of Tightrope. ‘So Do I Say Sorry First’ is a venomous three-minute pop/rock tour de force, co-written by Stephanie McIntosh, Tom Nichols (Kylie’s ‘Fever’, All Saints’ ‘Black Coffee’) and Klaus Derendorf. It just came out on its own, that song, McIntosh says. A lot of people think you’re not serious if you don’t write all your songs. I don’t agree with that. It was a great feeling to write a song and I went through a period of writing songs when I was about 15, which I might do something with one day.

"But this is my first album. I’m going to put my trust into people like Tom (Nichols) who know exactly what they’re doing.

After the release of her debut single ‘Mistake’ in June, Steph has had an overwhelming amount of support from her UK fans.

‘So Do I Say Sorry First’ is the second single to be taken from her debut album Tightrope, which will fast become the soundtrack to your summer. ‘So Do I Say Sorry First’ is released on 13 August through Universal Records.
