Sophie Ellis-Bextor continues her storming comeback with the release of a new single and announcement of a UK tour.‘Today The Sun’s On Us’ is released on 13th August through Fascination Records. It’s a change in style for Sophie. She leaves the dancefloor behind for a mid tempo ballad that is perfect for the long summer evenings. The single was written by Sophie with Nina Woodford and Steve Robson. “The song is about giving yourself permission to enjoy things when the going is good, despite the fact you know the good may not last forever.” One of the UK’s most unique pop stars, Sophie has had a great year so far. Her singles ‘Catch You’ and ‘Me and My Imagination’ have been smash hits and her third album ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’ shot straight into the top 10 last month. The album has been getting rave reviews. MOJO said “How refreshing it is to have the woman with the poshest vowel sounds in pop not only back, but on top form.” Thisisfakediy.co.uk said “This is modern pop with old time appeal - it sticks in the head and refuses to budge.” Sophie is currently supporting George Michael on his 25 Live stadium tour across Europe.

She will be hitting the road for her own headline tour later this autumn. It is the first time Sophie has toured since 2004. The dates are as follows:
