Top selling solo artist Simon Webbe has written and recorded a track for the new Twentieth Century Fox blockbuster movie Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer.The song, Ride The Storm, will feature in the movie (released in the UK on June 15th), and will be released as a double A side single with a second Simon track, Grace, via Innocent Records on June 18th.Simon was a huge fan of the first Fantastic 4 movie and when he heard a follow up was being made, decided to pen a song especially for the film.As Simon explains: I love the Fantastic 4. As soon I heard they were releasing a second movie, I wrote a track specifically for it with my guitarist. I sent a demo of the song into Fox and they said yes straight away. "I couldnt believe it. Ive always wanted to have a song on a movie soundtrack, and you dont get much bigger than a big Hollywood blockbuster! Im absolutely delighted.Simon recently released his second critically acclaimed solo album Grace. The album is a collection of twelve perfectly crafted pop songs moulded in the sound Simon himself calls urban folk.
May 2007 will also see Simon embark on his first ever live tour of the UK. The 18 date tour will cover theatres across the country throughout May and June. Simon will perform tracks from his two solo albums Sanctuary and Grace, alongside a few surprises.
The past year and a half has been huge for Simon. He has to date chalked up four UK hit singles No Worries, Lay Your Hands, After All This Time and the Top 5 airplay smash hit Coming Around Again.
His first album Sanctuary went double platinum in the UK alone, followed by phenomenal international solo success with sales across Europe and Asia, culminating in Simon picking up the Best Breakthrough Act award at the 2006 MTV Asia Awards.
