Acclaimed Wolverhampton singer/songwriter Scott Matthews is celebrating his song “Elusive” winning the prestigious Ivor Novello Award in the category “Best Song Musically and Lyrically”. Following this news Island Records will re-release “Elusive” as a single on June 25th ’07. “Elusive” was previously released on the Wolverhampton independent label ‘San Remo’ last summer. Scott Matthews released his debut album “Passing Stranger” on Island Records to widespread acclaim in Oct. ‘06. His three singles to date “Elusive”, “Dream Song” and “Passing Stranger” have been playlisted by Radio 1, Radio 2 and XFM. His celebrated performance on Later With Jools Holland had Damon Albarn and Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol among countless others singing his praises. The album will be re-released on July 9 with a bonus dual DVD / Audio disc featuring Scott Matthews performing tracks from the album with a string quartet.

Scott Matthews has played some 50 shows around the UK (not forgetting Europe and a breathtaking show at South By Southwest) over the last few months and will be playing at many of the major festivals over the summer. Confirmed shows so far are:
