Scarlette Fever - Black & White

Scarlette Fever - Black & White

On April 24 the unstoppable Scarlette Fever returns with her new single Black & White, out on Starfisch Records and taken from debut album Medication Time (due May 23rd).

"I wrote Black and White to find my own voice," says Scarlette. "It’s my 'I Am What I Am' and I-don’t-need-you-or-anybody-else-song."

Cue quiet verse + shouty chorus song structure, driving guitars and more hooks than the Arsenal changing rooms.

"Shut up and you can hear me spitting you out, the party’s over," she hisses at her ex-lover, before declaring: "Bye bye baby, I’m the one who’s calling it quits."

"The beauty of music is that it means different things to different people," says Scarlette. "But I think anyone who’s been in a tough relationship will be able to relate to this one."

You said it, girlfriend. Co-written with Alex Smith from Metrophonic (James Morrison) and mixed by Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol), Black & White is the follow up to the addictive Crash & Burn, which exploded into the nation’s consciousness on its release this January.

With a B-list on BBC Radio 2 Crash & Burn won praise everywhere from The Sun, Star Magazine and Record of the Day, to teen favourites Mizz, Sugar and Bliss.

Scarlette’s debut album, ‘Medication Time’ is due out May 23. An inspiring mix of stand-out orchestral ballads, accessible guitar-led growers and classic pop, all brimming with anthemic chord changes and hooks.

And why the name? "My real one’s Karen," she laughs. "And I'm passionate, so I was thinking of red. Being me, I had to be even more extreme and upgrade it to scarlet. And it's 'fever' as in a fantastic rush of out of control joy and excitement. So here I am."

Black & White is out April 24 followed by the album, Medication Time May 23.
